The way colon cleansing is done today is totally different from the way this medical treatment was followed back in the days of the Egyptian pyramids. Then they used reed pipes to direct water at higher pressure into the rectum and then onwards into the colon. This rudimentary system still worked wonderfully although it lacked the efficiency of modern methods. Later on, western civilization accepted the process into its medical books and started using it for almost anything related with the digestive tract. It also became a way of life until the middle 20th century when many researchers argued about its safety and its improper administration.
Further research in recent times pointed to the fact that it was only helpful in getting patients ready for colonoscopy and otherwise it did not have any viable use for the human body. Neither did it do anything to cure diseases nor was it helpful in removing toxic waste from the body.
